– Randolph-Macon men's volleyball won two of three matches over the weekend, beating Illinois Tech on Friday and splitting neutral site games at Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday.

How it Happened vs. Illinois Tech:
- The beginning of the first set was close as Illinois Tech took an 11-9 lead early. RMC returned with a 9-2 run to take a four-point lead. A 5-0 run by IIT gave them the lead right back, which they held until 23-21 when RMC won the final four points of the set to take set one.
- IIT took a 6-5 lead out of the gate and opened it out to a 15-7 lead. After the Scarlet Hawks had a 18-11 lead, but RMC stormed back with a 9-1 run to take a 20-19 lead. The Yellow Jackets won five of the final seven points of the set to take the second frame.
- The Scarlet Hawks opened the third set with another lead at 13-9 but once again, RMC came right back with a run, taking a 17-16 lead. IIT bounced back to re-take the lead 22-19 but RMC had a 3-0 run to tie it again. Three of the final four points went to the Scarlet Hawks to avoid the sweep.
- IIT jumped out to a 4-1 advantage in the fourth but for the remainder of the set, RMC took over. They took a 9-8 deficit and turned it into a 19-11 lead which was the dagger. The Hawks showed fight, cutting the deficit to four at 23-21 but RMC finished out the match to earn the win.
Inside the Numbers vs. Illinois Tech:
- Ian Wagenhauser (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) led the way with 12 kills and 12 digs.
- Brady Plucker (Fredericksburg, Va./Riverbend) had 15 digs from the libero spot.
- Kody Rogan (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) totaled nine kills, 13 digs, four blocks, and eight digs.
- Cade Terrell (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) led with 20 assists.
- RMC as a team had 20 block assists and two solo blocks. Owen Hahn (Henrico, Va./Tucker) led the team with seven block assists and had a solo block as well.
How it Happened vs. Mount Olive:
- The Trojans jumped out to an early lead in the opening set, leading 7-2. RMC continued to try to cut into the lead, but UMO held off the Yellow Jackets until a 4-0 tied the set at 16. The teams traded points and was tied 21-21 but UMO won the final four points to take set one.
- Both teams kept the score close to begin the second set. UMO slowly grew the lead over the course of the frame, as a 4-0 run gave them a six-point advantage at 17-11. The Trojans held off any runs that the Yellow Jackets started to hold onto their lead and take set two, 25-20.
- The third set went back-and-forth for the opening 21 points but the Trojans used a 5-1 run to take a 15-9 lead which they held for the remainder. RMC cut it to three but couldn't get any closer as UMO finished the sweep of RMC.
Inside the Numbers vs. Mount Olive:
- Kody Rogan was the lone Yellow Jackets player with double-digit kills, totaling 12 kills and 12 assists. He hit .455 in the match.
- Cade Terrell had 20 assists for the third straight contest.
- Owen Hahn finished with five kills, two solo blocks, and two block assists.
- Davis Luck (Ashland, Va./Patrick Henry) had four kills without an error, hitting .800 in the match.
How it Happened vs. St. Andrews:
- The Yellow Jackets took a lead to begin the first set at 5-2 but St. Andrews had a 3-0 run to tie it back up. RMC held a 12-11 lead before they exploded for an 8-2 run that tilted the set in their favor. RMC kept the Knights from making a run as they won the first set, 25-20.
- The Knights returned the favor in the second set with a 6-2 run to open the frame. RMC slowly came back and tied it at 15 after a 6-3 run. RMC took their first lead of the set at 18-17 but the Knights ignited an 8-1 run that won them the set.
- The two teams traded the lead multiple times to begin the third set, but the Knights finally created some separation at 18-12 and kept RMC from getting back into the set as they won the final three points of the set to take a pivotal set three, 25-16.
- The fourth set was similar to the third, as both teams were in a tight battle in the opening points of the set. The Knights once again took an advantage at 17-13, seemingly putting RMC in a hole. The Yellow Jackets were down 20-17 and then went on a 4-0 run to take the lead, but St. Andrews returned with a 3-1 run to re-take the lead. The Yellow Jackets stayed alive, winning the next three points to force the deciding set five.
- The fifth set never got outside of a two-point lead for either team as both teams traded small runs. St. Andrews led 14-13 but kills by Ian Wagenhauser and Davis Luck, followed by a block by Owen Hahn and Wagenhauser gave RMC the win 16-14.
Inside the Numbers vs. St. Andrews:
- Ian Wagenhauser shined with 22 kills, a season-high for him. He also had two solo blocks and two block assists with five digs.
- Brady Plucker led the team with 15 digs, tying a career-high.
- Owen Hahn had seven or more blocks for the second time over the weekend. He finished with five block assists and two solo blocks.
- Kody Rogan was the only other RMC player with double-digit kills, tallying 10 along with 18 assists, eight digs, two solo blocks, and two block assists.
- Cade Terrell had a season-high 27 assists in the win.
