– Randolph-Macon men's basketball used late scores to hold off Ferrum on the road on Saturday afternoon, winning 61-59.

How it Happened:
- Lance Johnson (South Riding, Va./Freedom) hit a three to open the game for RMC, igniting a 10-3 run for the Yellow Jackets through the first five minutes. Ferrum responded with a 6-0 run to bring the deficit to one point. Three triples by the Yellow Jackets helped them build out a double-digit lead at 24-13 with 7:20 remaining in the half. The teams traded buckets for the remainder of the half, with RMC scoring the final four points of the frame to take a 35-25 lead into halftime.
- The Panthers came roaring out of the half with a 16-6 run to knot the score at 41 just five minutes into the second half. Ferrum took their first lead of the game with 12:19 to go at 46-45 and extended the lead out to 51-47 before an 11-0 run for the Yellow Jackets gave them a 58-51 lead with 4:26 to play. Over the next two minutes, Ferrum went on a 6-0 run to cut the Yellow Jackets' lead to one at 58-57. Daniel Mbangue (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) hit a layup followed by a free throw by Keishawn Pulley Jr. (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's School) gave RMC a four-point lead. Ferrum scored to cut the lead to two with 35 seconds left and had a chance to win at the buzzer, but the Yellow Jackets prevailed 61-59.
Inside the Numbers:
- RMC shot 48.1% from the field and held the Panthers under 40% at 39.7%.
- Margad Choijilsuren (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) had 12 points in an efficient day, shooting 6-8 from the field.
- Daniel Mbangue had nine points, 10 rebounds, and four assists. He now has double-digit rebounds in three of the last four games and four of the last six.
- Keishawn Pulley Jr. totaled 13 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals. He has led the team in scoring in each of the last three games.
- Lance Johnson hit three treys in four attempts, giving him 24 on the year.
