#11 Men's Hoops Wins Eighth Straight with 86-46 Victory

ASHLAND, Va. – Keishawn Pulley Jr. (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's School) and Jabril Robinson (Rockville, Md./South Kent Prep) combined for 46 points in a 40-point win at home against Shenandoah on Wednesday night.

How it Happened:
  • Jabril Robinson got the scoring started with a layup, followed by an and-one for Daniel Mbangue (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) to give the Yellow Jackets a 5-0 advantage. After going 5-5 from deep last game, Will Coble (Greensboro, N.C./Davidson Day) hit another on his first shot of the day to give RMC a 10-4 lead just four minutes in. Coble hit another three seven minutes later to make the lead 19-12. The offense exploded for 29 points in the final 9:12 of the first, including a Mbangue deep three at the buzzer to give RMC a 45-26 lead at the break.
  • The offense continued to roll as eight straight points by Robinson gave RMC a 64-37 advantage with 11:27 to go in the game. Pulley Jr. responded with a pair of threes as well as Amr Areikat (Ramallah, Palestine/Langley) posted seven points off the bench in a four-minute span to help RMC finish out an 86-46 win. RMC hit six threes in the second half.
Inside the Numbers:
  • Keishawn Pulley Jr. scored 24 points on 9-16 field goals and 5-8 from three. He also posted a team-high three steals. It marks his third straight game with 20+ points and 5+ threes. Entering the game, Pulley Jr. was fifth in the ODAC in 3PFG% at 40.3% from deep.
  • Jabril Robinson notched his fourth 20+ point performance of the season with 22 on the night. He hit a career-high 10 field goals including two threes.
  • Daniel Mbangue once again filled up the stat sheet with eight points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. He now has two straight games with at least eight rebounds and assists and entered the contest third in the ODAC in rebounds per game at 8.7.
  • Will Coble hit another three triples tonight to give him eight in the last two games.
  • RMC made 12 threes against the top-ranked three-point defense in the country, marking the fourth straight game with at least 11 treys. They also shot 50.7% from the field. The Yellow Jackets have shot better than 50% in six of their last eight games.
  • With 86 points, RMC has now scored 80+ points in seven of their last eight games.
  • The defense held Shenandoah to just 4-17 (23.5%) from three. Seven opponents have now shot under 30% from deep in games this season. The Hornets also shot just 37.5% from the field. Eight of the last nine opponents have shot less than 40% on field goals.
