How it Happened
  • Randolph-Macon's attack was strong and steady early in the game, but solid defensive play and goalkeeping for the Panthers kept the game scoreless through 15 minutes of play.
  • The Yellow Jackets were able to light up the scoreboard in the second frame thanks to an impressive effort leading to a goal by Holle Sink (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) just over seven minutes into the quarter. More offensive opportunities arose throughout the remainder of the half but the score remained 1-0 heading to halftime.
  • RMC got the scoring going early in the second half, posting two goals in a span of a minute and a half, one by Aja Washington (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) and another by Breea Dresler (Yorktown, Va./Tabb). Anna Stribling (Annandale, Va./W.T. Woodson) was able to tally a goal as well, giving RMC a 4-0 lead after three quarters.
  • Caitlin Porter (Virginia Beach, Va./Kellam) and Maggie Muldoon (Prince Frederick, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) both got on the board within three minutes of each other in the fourth quarter to extend the lead out to 6-0 where it stayed for the remainder.
