How it Happened
- RMC opened the game with a chance deep in their offensive zone but shortly after, Lynchburg opened the scoring in the game with a deflection in front of the cage to go up 1-0.
- Early in the second frame, Lynchburg struck again with their second goal of the game, despite the RMC defense holding the Hornets to just three shots in the quarter.
- The Yellow Jackets opened the second half with a vengeance, getting a corner opportunity early on and cashing in as Courtney Moodie (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) deflected a shot from Anna Stribling (Annandale, Va./W.T. Woodson) off an insert by Mackenzie Wunderlich (Midlothian, Va./Trinity Episcopal) to get past the LYN goalie and cut the deficit to one.
- Valentina Ambrogi-Torres (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal School) made six second half saves to keep the deficit at one. RMC had a corner opportunity late but couldn't convert as the Hornets held on to win.
