Miles Mallory Signs Pro Contract to Play in Germany

8/9/2023 4:39:00 PM

KARLSRUHE, GERMANY – Former Randolph-Macon forward Miles Mallory has announced that he has signed to play professionally for Seeburg College Wizards, a team in Regionalliga, a German professional league. The team is located in Karlsruhe, Germany.

"Miles has put in so much work to developing himself and his game; it's so gratifying to see him get the opportunity to continue playing the game he loves as a professional," said RMC head coach Josh Merkel. "This is a dream come true and he will add a ton of value to the program in Germany. He is not only one of the best to play in the ODAC or at RMC, but the most humble superstar and team player I have been around. We are excited to see where his athletic journey takes him and will be supporting him along the way!"

Mallory graduated last spring after playing for four years in the Lemon and Black. A decorated athlete, Miles began his career with the Yellow Jackets by being named ODAC, state, and region Rookie of the Year in 2020. As a sophomore, he was named a first team All-American and All-Region while also being named state Defensive Player of the Year for the first of three consecutive seasons. He was announced as a second team All-American among many accolades as a junior, and followed it up by being named state and region Player of the Year as well as first team All-American as a senior.

Miles was a key piece on the 2021-22 National Championship team and holds the program record with 274 blocks, which also holds as an ODAC record. His 855 career rebounds places him fourth in program history and sits just outside of the top 10 in career points with 1,473, a 14.0 average over the four years.

"I am very happy that Miles will get the chance in Karlsruhe now to experience his rookie season," said Daniel Poerschke, Miles' agent. "We have worked previously with the club and therefore Miles will be in a great city to explore the European lifestyle and make his mark in his first pro basketball steps."
