Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Randolph-Macon men's volleyball team had their third straight match on the road on Wednesday night at Stevenson. The Yellow Jackets fell in four sets to the Mustangs, despite Kolby Gibson's (Bumpass, Va./Louisa) 20 kills.

How it Happened:
- The Yellow Jackets started hot, taking a 5-4 lead and turning it into a 10-5 lead after a kill by Daniel Nguyen (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen). The Mustangs made it close multiple times, but RMC sealed the first set after going on a 5-0 run to take a 20-12 lead. RMC cruised to a 25-18 set one win.
- The two teams traded runs to begin the second set, until Stevenson turned a 13-13 set into a 19-14 score, taking control of the set. Kolby Gibson finally stopped the run with a kill, but it wasn't enough as Stevenson took the set, 25-19.
- It was a similar second set, both teams trading punches early on, but once again, a 7-2 run by the Mustangs busted the set open. RMC battled back, tying it 24-24 late, but Stevenson held on to take the next two points and the set, 26-24.
- RMC jumped out to an early 7-3 lead in set four, after three kills by Gibson in the first seven RMC points. Gibson and Jarrett Carrano (Beaverdam, Va./Patrick Henry) were leading the way as RMC had a 19-15 lead. Stevenson battled back to tie it 25-25 and ultimately took the set, 29-27, winning the match.
By the Numbers:
- Kolby Gibson and Jarrett Carrano led the way for RMC. Gibson had 20 kills on a .239 hitting percentage, while Carrano had 18 kills on a .361 hitting percentage. Gibson also had seven digs on the night.
- Daniel Nguyen also added nine kills, while also tallying nine digs.
- Phillip Van Essendelft (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) and Sean Cunningham (Virginia Beach, Va./Kempsville) each had three assisted blocks.
- Kody Rogan (Chesapeake, Va./Hickory) was phenomenal again, setting to the tune of 47 assists. That marks his second straight match with 40+ assists and his third such match this season.
