Box Score POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Randolph-Macon men's volleyball team traveled up to fourth-ranked Vassar College on Friday, fresh off their big weekend at the Macon Invitational. The Yellow Jackets fell on the road to the Brewers in straight sets.
The Basics:

How it Happened:
- The Brewers opened the first set on an 8-3 run, which was sustained for a while, before RMC was able to cut the lead to three at 16-13. But Vassar closed the first set on a 9-1 run to take the set, 25-14.
- The second set was the best of the three for the Yellow Jackets. RMC battled with Vassar for a while, holding it close before VC built a 15-9 lead. The Yellow Jackets closed the lead to 16-14 after a 5-1 run capped off by a kill by Ian Wagenhauser(Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run). The Brewers quickly built the lead back to five and held the lead the remainder of the set, taking set two, 25-22.
- RMC got off to a hot start in the third set, quickly jumping out to a 5-2 lead after a few attack errors by Vassar. VC went on a 5-0 run to take an 11-8 lead soon after, but RMC wasted no time tying the score at 11. The score went back and forth multiple times through the remainder of the set. RMC tied it up 21-21 before Vassar closed out the sweep with a 4-1 run to end the third set.
By the Numbers:
- Wagenhauser once again led RMC in the kills department, totaling 13 on the night. He also led the team with six digs.
- Jarrett Carrano (Beaverdam, Va./Patrick Henry) moved over to setter for the match, leading the Yellow Jackets with 23 assists.
- Gio DeLuca (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) had three blocks on the night, all three were assisted.
