– Randolph-Macon men's basketball fell to top-ranked Christopher Newport in non-conference action on Wednesday night, 64-54.

How it Happened
- Both RMC and CNU started out slow offensively before RMC took a 4-2 deficit and ignited a 7-0 run to get a comfortable lead, forcing a CNU timeout. The Captains didn't go away, as both teams traded runs the rest of the half including an 8-3 run for the Yellow Jackets that gave them a 24-23 halftime lead.
- The Captains found their stride in the second half, quickly jumping out to a lead which they held the rest of the way. RMC cut it to five at 53-48 but an 11-0 run by CNU extended the lead back out to 16 that would ultimately be the dealbreaker.
Inside the Numbers
- Jabril Robinson (Rockville, Md./South Kent Prep) led RMC with 18 points on 8-16 shooting. He poured in two threes, four rebounds, and three steals.
- Vincent Payne (Frederick, Md./St. Maria Goretti) had seven points including a first half three.
- The Yellow Jackets' defense held CNU to just 26.7% shooting from deep and forced 13 turnovers.
- Joe Bachman (Wilmington, N.C./Greensboro Day) provided strong minutes off the bench defensively, altering shots and grabbing three boards.
