How it Happened
- Neither team could get offense going in the first half. The largest lead of the half came at the 13:30 mark when RMC led 10-6. Virginia Wesleyan was able to capture the lead late in the first half and held a one-point advantage at the halfway mark, 22-21.
- Randolph-Macon took the lead early in the second and held their lead until the four-minute mark when VWU took a 40-39 lead. The Yellow Jackets were held scoreless for three and a half minutes as the Marlins extended their lead to six, which was the largest of the game. VWU was able to hold on to take down RMC, 49-44.
Inside the Numbers
- Jabril Robinson (Rockville, Md./South Kent Prep) led the Yellow Jackets in scoring with 13 points and totaled five rebounds.
- Daniel Mbangue (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) neared a double-double with nine points and eight assists.
- RMC held Virginia Wesleyan to 0-13 from three and kept the Marlins to just 31.3% shooting.
