– Randolph-Macon men's basketball opened the season with an 84-61 win over Pfeiffer at the Townebank Tip-off Tournament on Friday night.

How it Happened
- The lead changed hands early in the first half before RMC took an 11-10 deficit and ignited an 8-0 run that gave RMC a seven-point lead. The Yellow Jackets' lead was as much as 10 with five and a half minute to play before the break but was able to take a seven-point lead into the locker room after 20 minutes.
- RMC came out the gates hot in the second half, opening their lead out to 20 at 66-46. The Yellow Jackets kept their lead wide throughout the second half while shooting 56.8% from the field to walk away with an 84-61 win in the season opener.
Inside the Numbers
- Randolph-Macon shot 51.6% (33-64) from the floor. They shot over 50% in 10 of 31 games a season ago, including last year's season opener.
- RMC had three players score in double-figures, with Jabril Robinson (Rockville, Md./South Kent Prep) posting 15 points.
- Freshman guard Samuel Brannen (Suffolk, Va./King's Fork) made a splash in his first career contest, finishing with 15 points on 7-9 shooting.
- Will Coble (Charlotte, N.C./Davidson Day) knocked down a pair of threes on his way to 10 points as the third RMC player in double-digits.
- Daniel Mbangue (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) filled up the stat sheet with nine points, six rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block.
