Dressler Notches Goal for Field Hockey at WLU

LEXINGTON, Va. – RMC Field Hockey fell to Washington and Lee, 5-1, in an ODAC matchup on Wednesday night.

How it Happened
  • The Generals got on the board eight minutes into the first frame and continued to apply pressure through the rest of the quarter. A defensive save by Anna Scheir (Fallston, Md./Fallston) kept the score at 1-0 through one.
  • RMC was able to generate some offensive chances in the second quarter but WLU was able to score again with a minute and a half to go before the halftime break but RMC cut it back to one with a goal by Breea Dressler (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) to send it to the half at 2-1.
  • The Generals added another goal to begin the third stanza to extend the lead out to two and were able to add two more scores in the quarter, allowing them to take a 5-1 lead into the fourth.
  • The RMC offense had more scoring chances in the fourth quarter, putting three shots on goal but couldn't get one past the Generals' keeper. The Yellow Jackets defense held the Generals scoreless as well as WLU closed out a 5-1 win.
Inside the Numbers
  • Breea Dressler scored her second goal of the season before the end of the first half. Her other goal on the season came against Ferrum on Sept. 30.
  • Cali Kujawa (Hampton, Va./Kecoughtan) assisted on Dressler's goal for her 11th point of the year in just seven games. She is now second on the team in points and goals, as well as third in assists.
  • Valentina Ambrogi-Torres (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal School) totaled eight saves in the game.
  • Anna Scheir made her third defensive save of the year, matching her total from last year.

RMC will be back in action on Saturday for an ODAC contest against Sweet Briar at 7:00 p.m. on Nunnally Field.
