How It Happened
- Andrew Tiffey (Sr., Columbia, Md. / Wilde Lake) scored early and often in an offensive barrage with his first goal scored just 45 seconds into the game. He was a part of the first three goals with an assist on the second to Smith who made the score 2-0 almost a minute later.
- Tiffey wasn't done as he scored three more later in the frame for a five-goal quarter. The nation's top shooter added another to start the second to give him a perfect 6-for-6 day.
- Jack Averna (Sr., Warrenton, Va. / Fauquier) got into the mix with three of the next four goals to give him four on the afternoon.
- Defensively the Yellow Jackets did their part by limiting the Panthers all over the field. The visitors were held to just six shots with two each in the final three quarters.
- Ferrum's lone goal came midway through the fourth quarter as Michael Paolicelli scored an acrobatic goal from his knees.
