How It Happened (Game 1)
- There might have been a slight chill at the start of the game, but Ellis was dealing straight fire from the start. The first time through the Guilford order she struck out eight of the nine batters. It was just a sign of things to come as she was just getting started.
- Baughan then got the Yellow Jackets offense on the board in the bottom of the third as she took a pitch over the pitch to left center. That put the score at 3-0 with Amanda Lanyon (Fr., Midlothian, Va. / Midlothian) and Kellie Ferguson (Sr., Capron, Va. / Southampton Academy) also coming around. Like Ellis in the circle, it was also a sign of things to come.
- One inning later Olivia Owens (So., Salisbury, Md. / James M. Bennett) also went yard with a homer to left to make it 4-0. With more than enough run support Ellis then proceeded to strike out a pair of batters in the fourth through sixth innings.
- Sami Davidson (Sr., Stafford, Va. / Brooke Point) doubled down the left field line in the bottom of the sixth to bring in Owens and Naomi Sadler (Fr., Emporia, Va. / Brunswick) to make the score 6-0. A Kayla Davis (Fr., Powhatan, Va. / Powhatan) sac fly allowed Bailey Hairfield (So., Chesterfield, Va. / Cosby) to score for the final run.
- The perfect game was finalized when Ellis forced a pair of ground outs sandwiched around a pop up to third. It was the only inning she didn't record a strikeout.
Inside The Numbers (Game 1)
- Ellis struck out 14 of the 21 batters faced on the day. In addition to that, she was never in danger of losing the perfect game to a walk as only one Guilford batter received two balls during any pitch count in the game.
- This was the sixth game this season Ellis has fanned 10 or more batters in a game. She now has 145 strikeouts in 18 appearances on the season.
- This was Ellis' fifth shutout of the season as she improved to 14-2 on the year.
How It Happened (Game 2)
- Baughan opened up the scoring with another home run in the bottom of the first to help her own cause as she started Game 2 in the circle. She received more run support two innings later as Owens doubled to left center to bring in Sadler.
- Baughan proceeded to power in four more runs to help put the Jackets up 6-0. Two came on a double to right center as Ferguson and Ryleigh Elliott (So., Milton, Del. / Cape Henlopen) scored in the fourth. Ferguson came around again in the sixth as Baughan hit her third home run of the day and second of the game in the bottom of the sixth.
- Kayla Horesky (Jr., Woodbridge, Va. / Colgan) capped off the offense as she hit a pinch hit triple down the left field line to score Maddy Bates (So., Arlington, Va. /Bishop O'Connell).
Inside The Numbers (Game 2)
- Baughan's three home runs on Sunday gave her four for the weekend and five for the week.
- In the circle she was just as effective and limited the Quakers to just four hits. She struck out four and allowed two walks to improve to 9-3 on the season.
- At the plate Baughan was 3-for-4 with five RBIs and two runs. For the day she was 4-for-7 with eight RBIs and three runs scored.
- Ferguson did quite a bit of walking during both games. In six plate appearances, she reached safely every time with three walks in the opener followed by two more and a hit by pitch in the second game.
