Box Score FERRUM, Va. – Senior Maria-Teresa Ambrogi-Torres (Richmond, Va./Trinity) tallied two goals and Austyn Faries (Richmond, Va./Monacan) recorded a pair of assists as the Randolph-Macon field hockey team posted a 3-0 ODAC victory at Ferrum on Friday afternoon.

How it Happened:
- The Yellow Jackets scored on their first shot of the game. A penalty corner taken by senior Erin Barringer (Catonsville, Md./Indian Creek Upper School) set up Maddie McCoy with the goal off an assist by Faries to give R-MC an early 1-0 lead. Freshman Emma Landis (Annandale, N.J./North Hunterdon) had a pair of shots on goal late in the period, but both were saved. Ambrogi-Torres scored on a penalty stroke to give the Yellow Jackets a 2-0 lead after 1. The Yellow Jacket defense did not allow the Panthers a shot or a penalty corner in the first 15 minutes. The teams were forced to sit through a 2:30 lightning and weather delay after the first quarter.
- Ambrogi-Torres and Landis both had shots on goal in the first minute of the second period. R-MC had seven shots in the second quarter, but none found the cage as it remained 2-0. Ferrum had its lone shot of the game late in the second period that was saved by junior Gatlin Snyder (Powhatan, Va./Powhatan).
- In the 38th minute, Faries fed Ambrogi-Torres for her second goal as the Yellow Jackets took a 3-0 lead.
- R-MC had the lone shot of the fourth period as R-MC registered the 3-0 victory.
By The Numbers:
- The Yellow Jackets had a 15-1 advantage in shots. Ambrogie-Torres had five shots, while Landis had three and Faries two.
- R-MC had 10 penalty corners, with half coming in the third period. The Panthers did not have a penalty corner.
- It was the second shutout of the season for the Yellow Jacket defense. R-MC blanked Bridgewater 4-0 earlier this year.
