Box Score 2 SALEM, Va. – Senior Jacob Selden (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) had two hits and knocked in three in the opener, including the game-winner in the 11th, as the No. 14 Randolph-Macon baseball team split a doubleheader at Roanoke in ODAC action on Sunday.

How It Happened: Game 1
- The Yellow Jackets started the scoring in the top of the first. Sophomore Ethan Iannuzzi (Chesterfield, Va./Cosby) drew a one-out walk and stole second. Senior Mike Nickles (Stafford, Va./Colonial Forge) also walked. With two away, a wild pitch put both in scoring position. Selden singled to center to drive in both, giving R-MC a 2-0 lead.
- The Maroons plated single runs in the first and fourth to level the score at 2-2. In the top of the fifth, Iannuzzi reached on an error and came home on a two-out double by junior Will Hass (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne's Belfield) as the Yellow Jackets reclaimed the lead at 3-2.
- Roanoke scored two in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4-3 edge. R-MC would respond in the sixth. Senior Kevin Mooney (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) was hit by a pitch with one away and moved to third on a two-out single by freshman Grayson Bush (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello). Bush stole second and Mooney scored on an errant throw to tie the game at 4-4.
- The Yellow Jackets would take the lead back in the eighth. Mooney reached on an error and freshman pinch-runner Matthew Myers (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) scored on an error as the visitors took a 5-4 advantage.
- The Maroons got the equalizer in the bottom of the eighth, creating a 5-5 deadlock.
- After a scoreless ninth and tenth, R-MC went ahead in the 11th. Nickles had a one-out double and Hass was plunked. Selden singled to right to drive in Nickles with the go-ahead run. Hass sent to third on Selden's base hit and scored on squeeze bunt by senior Reece Yeargain (Chester, Va./Benedictine) as the Yellow Jackets went up 7-5.
- Senior Zack Radcliffe (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) retired the Maroons in order in the bottom of the 11th to earn his first save of the season.
By The Numbers
- Senior Tyler Dunn (Salisbury, Md./James M. Bennett) worked 2.2 scoreless innings of relief with one hit and two strikeouts to earn the win, raising his record to 3-0.
- Nickles had two hits, two walks and two runs.
- Iannuzzi had two steals and two runs.
How It Happened: Game 2
- The Maroons built a 6-0 lead before R-MC got on the scoreboard in the eighth. Selden had a leadoff double and scored on a homer to left by Yeargain. Sophomore Brooks Mazey (Glen Allen, Va./Deep Run) was hit by a pitch and came home on a fielder's choice by senior Ryan Duphorn (Erial, N.J./Paul VI) to make it 6-3.
- The Yellow Jackets loaded the bases in the ninth but were not able to score and settled for a split.
By The Numbers
- R-MC stayed in first place in the ODAC with a 16-3 conference record. Roanoke, Shenandoah and Lynchburg are tied for second at 15-4.
- Yeargain went 3 for 4 with two RBI.
- Duphorn had two doubles and one RBI.
- Selden had two hits and a run.
- Iannuzzi went hitless, snapping his 18-game hitting streak.
