-
The Jackets climbed back into the game with an impressive second quarter. They outscored the Eagles 3-0 on a pair of goals by Jack Smith (Fr., Stevensville, Md. / DeMatha Catholic) and another by Jack Averna (Jr., Warrenton, Va. / Fauquier). The second goal by Smith was on the power play with Andrew Tiffey (Jr., Columbia, Md. / Wilde Lake) providing the assist. AJ McNemar (So., Pasadena, Md. / Severn School) assisted on Averna's score to make it 6-4 with 6:47 to go in the half.

The Jackets ended the quarter with three of the last four goals. Two of those goals came pn an interesting exchange of FOGO goals. Bridgewater scored 12 seconds after Brandon Smith (Jr., Richmond, Va. / Douglas Freeman) scored after Mason Gauntt scored off the faceoff. Turnabout is fair play, however, and Jack Silvernale (Sr., Warrenton, Va. / Highland) scored after winning the ensuing faceoff seven seconds later.
-
R-MC climbed back within three after consecutive goals by Averna and Jamie Smith less than a minute apart midway through the fourth, but Bridgewater closed the game with the final three goals.

The Jackets featured a balanced attack as seven players combined for their nine goals. Jack Smith led the way with two goals and an assist. Tiffey joined him with three points on a goal and two helpers.

Bridgewater held a 42-35 advantage on shots and a 31-21 edge on ground balls.

Teams were nearly even on faceoffs with the Jackets winning 14 of the 26.
The Jackets go on the road for the next two weeks with Saturday contests. The first of those sees R-MC heading to Shenandoah a week from today with the opening faceoff set for 1 p.m.
