Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Senior Mary Castle (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) scored five goals on seven shots as the Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team posted a 20-3 victory at Methodist on Sunday afternoon to kick off the 2020 season.

How It Happened
- Junior Bella Samper (Spring, Texas/Klein Oak) had the first two goals for the Yellow Jackets, with the first assisted by freshman Logan Schweiger (Church Hill, Md./Queen Anne's County). Junior Kendall Griffis (Cherry Hill, N.J./Bishop Eustace) had the third goal, while junior Erin Mattone (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) added a pair of goals just 12 seconds apart to give R-MC a 5-0 lead with 21:12 remaining in the first half. Sophomore McKenzie Hynson (Pasadena, Md./Northeast) assisted on Mattone's second goal. After the Monarchs netted their first goal, junior Natalie Webster (Midlothian, Va./Midlothian) had three straight scores, the final two on free position shots, as the lead grew to 8-1 midway through the half. Castle would tally the next two goals, with junior Kaylyn Hewes (Linthicum, Md./North County) assisting on the second, as the visitors took a 10-1 lead with 8:30 left. Hynson scored on an assist by sophomore Lily Henderson (Manakin-Sabot, Va./St. Catherine's) before MU had the final goal of the half to trail 11-2.
- Hynson had R-MC's first two goals in the second half, with Samper assisting on the second. Castle accounted for the next three goals, with junior Taylor Sheppard (Queenstown, Md./Queen Anne's County) assisting on the third, as R-MC went up 16-3 with 12 minutes remaining. Sheppard scored on an assist by Samper, Henderson added a goal, Webster converted a free position shot, and Mattone registered the final goal on an assist by Webster to make the final 20-3.
