BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Randolph-Macon scored three straight goals in critical moments of the third and fourth quarters, winning 10-7 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Friday afternoon against Bridgewater College at Jopson Field. Senior Alex Camilliere (Huntingtown, MD / Huntingtown) scored three goals and sophomore Colin DiSesa (Ashland, Va. / Hanover) scored a goal and a pair of assists for Randolph-Macon (7-6, 2-3 ODAC) in the defeat of the Eagles (8-4, 2-3 ODAC).

After Bridgewater scored the first two goals of the game, Camilliere got the Yellow Jackets on the board with 5:59 to go in the first as he shot from the left side and the ball trickled in.

Randolph-Macon evened the score about four minutes later as junior Matt Surock (Baltimore, MD / Loch Raven) scored his first goal of the season, hitting the cage as the Yellow Jackets were in transition from a BC turnover.

Then, just thirty seconds later and following a save by junior Chris Cerrina (Ridgewood, NJ / Ridgewood),  DiSesa scored in transition as well, taking a pass from sophomore Tyler Flora (Mechanicsville, Va. / Hanover) and sending it into the cage to give R-MC its first lead of the game.

Randolph-Macon continued to take advantage of the transition offense. Tiffey took a pass from freshman Jack Silvernale (Warrenton, Va. / Highland School), who won the quarter-opening faceoff, getting R-MC onto the board again moments into the second quarter.

Senior Kyle Keepers (Roswell, GA / Roswell) was next to score for R-MC. He took a pass from fellow senior Coleman Adams (Mechanicsville, VA / St. Christopher's) into the cage with 12:50 to go in the second, giving the Yellow Jackets the 5-2 lead.

The Eagles ended R-MC's 5-0 run at 10:50 to go in the second as BC's Blake Mann scored twice in a row over the course of the middle of the second quarter. The scores cut the R-MC lead to just one.

Camilliere cut the Bridgewater run with a goal of his own, coming as he worked around an Eagle defender on the left side of the goal with 5:18 to go in the second quarter.   

The Eagles encroached on the Yellow Jacket's lead about three minutes later, scoring their fifth goal of the afternoon. The goal would send the teams into the halftime break with the advantage on Randolph-Macon's side, 6-5.

Bridgewater tied the game coming out of the break, scoring a goal with 9:24 to go in the third quarter. Sophomore Brendan Markovic (Westminster, Md. / Winters Mill) gave the lead back to Randolph-Macon, scoring a goal with 6:20 left in the period.

It was the first of a 3-0 run by R-MC. Camilliere scored next for the Yellow Jackets, taking a pass from Tiffey into the cage just two minutes after Markovic's goal.

The run spanned into the fourth quarter. Tiffey got another Yellow Jacket score on the board as he took a pass from DiSesa into the net with 14:03 left in the final period.

Bridgewater was able to tally another goal with 6:54 to go, but R-MC answered right back. Moments after a BC penalty, which was charged after senior Miles Muncie (Midlothian, VA / Midlothian) became the recipient of an Eagle push, Muncie made Bridgewater pay. He scored from the right side of the cage, shooting the ball between the keep's legs after grabbing the pass from DiSesa in a man-up situation, finalizing the score in favor of the Yellow Jackets 10-7.

R-MC outshot the Eagles 38-25 on the day, with 22 coming on goal. Camilliere and Keepers were the team leaders for shots, each taking seven.

Cerrina made six saves on the day, gaining his seventh win of the season in the cage.

Also leading the charge for R-MC defensively were senior Andrew Venezia (Rockville, MD / Good Counsel) and junior Austin Evans (Glen Allen, VA / Glen Allen), who each caused two turnovers. Flora led the team with six ground balls with Tiffey picking up four as well. R-MC picked up 30 ground balls compared to BC's 18.

R-MC held the 11-9 advantage in faceoffs, with sophomore Joe Maranto (Joppa, Md. / Fallston) leading R-MC, winning 6-of-9 faceoffs. Silvernale was 2-of-3 in his opportunities.   

Randolph-Macon will face Roanoke next Saturday at 2:00 PM at Kerr Stadium in Salem.
