Box Score PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The R-MC women's volleyball team fell to #17 ranked Carnegie Mellon 3-1, in the second game of the Invitational. Sophomore Mariah Clark (Stuarts Draft, Va./ Rivershead) led the team in kills with 16. She also added 14 digs in the match.
R-MC continued its ways by winning the first set 25-21. The host school were able to breakdown the Yellow Jackets and would go on to win three consecutive sets by the score of 25-19 to win the match 3-1.
Junior Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C./ Cardinal Gibbons) who led the ODAC in assists per set before this weekend, collected 37 assists in the match. She was also second on the team in digs as she gathered 15. Quinn would also pick up five service aces in the match, leading the team.
Sophomore Emily Fitzwater (Bealton, Va./ Liberty) who had four blocks in the previous match, led the team with total five blocks in the match. She recorded the third most points for Randolph-Macon with 7.5.
Another Yellow Jacket who continued her good form was junior Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va./ Peninsula Catholic) who led the team in digs in the match and for the season, as she recorded 22 in tonight's game. She would also have three kills on six total attacks to lead the team in kill percentage.
R-MC will be back on the court tomorrow morning for the final two games of the Carnegie Mellon Invitational as they take on John Carroll at 11:00 a.m. and Bethany at 1:00 p.m.
