ASHLAND, Va. – Junior Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C./Cardinal Gibbons) paced the Yellow Jackets with 43 assists as the Randolph-Macon volleyball team defeated Roanoke 3-0 in ODAC action Wednesday evening in Crenshaw Gymnasium to extend its win streak to six.

Quinn also had eight digs, three aces, one kill and one blocking assist.

The Yellow Jackets (7-3, 4-0 ODAC) jumped out to a quick 5-2 lead in Set 1 and slowly built a lead. R-MC led 17-11 before scoring eight of the final nine points to claim a 25-12 victory. The Yellow Jackets had an attack percentage of .432 in that initial set.

The second set was close, with neither team leading by more than four. R-MC pushed out to a 14-11 advantage, but the Maroons (9-3, 2-2 ODAC) cut the deficit to one at 14-13. The Yellow Jackets extended their lead to four at 19-15, but Roanoke used a 7-2 spurt to take a 22-21 edge. R-MC responded by scoring the final four points and took the second set 25-22.

With Set 3 tied at 5, the home team tallied five straight points to take a 10-5 lead. The Yellow Jackets pushed the advantage to seven at 21-14 before the Maroons tallied four straight to cut the deficit to three at 21-18. R-MC would score four of the final six points to secure the final set 25-20 and complete the sweep.

Freshman Miranda Hall (Mechanicsville, Va./Hanover) led all players with 17 kills and recorded 29 total attacks for an attack percentage of .483. Sophomore Mariah Clark (Stuarts Draft, Va./Riverheads) added 15 kills and had 30 total attacks for an attack percentage of .400. Clark also had six digs.

Junior Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va./Peninsula Catholic) topped all players with 16 digs.

Randolph-Macon will play in Carnegie Mellon's tournament this weekend, opening against Mount Union on Friday at 6 p.m. and facing the host school at 8 p.m.
