Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. – The Randolph-Macon women's volleyball team defeated Averett 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in its final game of the Washington & Lee Invitational.
R-MC finished the match with 42 kills. Sophomore Mariah Clark (Stuarts Draft, Va./ Rivershead) led the team in kills with 16 on 24 attacks for a .667 kill percentage. Clark also recorded eight digs, one solo block and two block assists. She finished with a 5.3 kill per set average.
Junior Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va./ Peninsula Catholic) was named to the W & L Invitational All-Tournament team for her performance througout the four games. She recorded nine digs in the win over Averett.
In the first set the Yellow Jackets came out strong and won 25-15. They continued that into the second and third sets winning 25-11 and 25-10 respectively.
Freshman Alexia Wolf (Midlothian, Va./ James River) put on another impressive performance for R-MC. She was second on the team with nine kills and led the team in digs with 12.
Junior Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C./ Cardinal Gibbons) recorded another impressive 35 assists. Throughout the four games in the W & L Invitational, Quinn notched 150 assists including 53 of those in the match versus St. Mary's.
The Yellow Jackets will be back on the court when they host Hollins for the beginning of ODAC conference play on Wednesday, September 14 at 7:00 p.m.
