Box Score TOWSON, Md. – Sophomore Alicia Hsieh (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) tied a program record for goals in a game at eight as the Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team posted a 15-6 victory at Goucher on Saturday afternoon.
For the seventh time, a Yellow Jacket tallied eight goals in a game. It was most recently accomplished by Kelly Egan against Hood on March 10, 2012.
Sophomore Alex Lightfoot (Fairfax, Va./Woodson) recorded seven assists, one away from the school record.
The Gophers (2-3) scored the first goal of the game before the Yellow Jackets (1-2) tallied the next seven scores. Hsieh had three of the goals, all assisted by Lightfoot. Goucher scored twice before Hsieh added the final two goals of the first half to give R-MC a 9-3 lead.
Goucher registered the first three goals of the second half to make it 9-6 before the Yellow Jackets scored the final six goals to claim the 15-6 win. Hsieh had three goals among those final six.
Senior Jenelle Whitman (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) had a pair of goals, while Lightfoot, senior Alyssa Chavez (Frederick, Md./Walkersville), junior Susie Snee (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll), sophomore Frankie Willing (Salisbury, Md./Worcester) and freshman Hannah Jones (Chestertown, Md./Kent County) each scored once. Hsieh, Chavez and senior Shannon Jamieson (Cypress, Texas/Cypress-Woods) each recorded one assist.
Hsieh scored her eight goals on nine shots, all on goal. Whitman paced the Yellow Jackets with four ground balls and with four caused turnovers.
Junior Allie Walker (Towson, Md./Mercy) registered 11 saves for the victors.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Wednesday, March 16 at 4 p.m. at Christopher Newport.
