ATLANTA, Ga. – The Randolph-Macon volleyball team were defeated by the number eight nationally ranked Emory, 3-0. The game was the second match of the Emory tournament as R-MC won in five sets over Clarkson earlier in the day.

Junior Samantha Sallade (Newport News, Va./ Peninsula Catholic) led the team with 10 digs.

Emory are currently ranked number eight in the AVCA national poll and are the number one team in the South Region, with the Yellow Jackets in second.

The Eagles won the first two sets by a score of 25-18. The Yellow Jackets lost the third set by a score of 25-20.

Junior Erin Quinn (Morrisville, N.C./ Cardinal Gibbons) added 26 assists to her tally for the season. Quinn was ninth in the nation in assists per set heading into the tournament.

R-MC will finish out the regular season with the final two games of the Emory Tournament. The Yellow Jackets (20-5) will play Susquehanna at 11 a.m. and Berry at 1:00 p.m. The Yellow Jackets will host the quarterfinal of the ODAC tournament on Wednesday, November 2nd at 7 p.m.
