Box Score GREENSBORO, N.C. - Freshman Alicia Hsieh (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) netted five goals to lead the Randolph-Macon women's lacrosse team to an 18-14 victory over Greensboro Thursday afternoon.
The Yellow Jackets (6-2) scored the first three goals of the game, with Hsieh recording the third. After the Pride (7-3) tallied two of the next three goals to make it 4-2, R-MC scored three straight to take a 7-2 advantage. Junior Shannon Jamieson (Cypress, Texas/Cypress-Woods) netted two of those three for the Yellow Jackets. Each team scored four through the rest of the half as R-MC took an 11-6 lead at intermission. Junior Jenelle Whitman (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) had three goals in the first period, while Hsieh and Jamieson added two.
R-MC scored three of the first four goals in the second half, with Jamieson netting two and Hsieh one, to take a 14-7 lead with 21:27 remaining. The teams traded goals over the next 14 minutes, with Hsieh adding two more, as the Yellow Jackets led 18-11 with 7:44 left. Greensboro registered the final three goals over the last seven minutes to make the final 18-14.
Jamieson finished with four goals and two assists, while Whitman posted three goals. Sophomore Susie Snee (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll) and freshman Lucy Andrews (Bethesda, Md./Johnson) both scored a pair of goals for the Yellow Jackets.
R-MC held a 21-12 advantage in draw controls, led by seven by Whitman.
Sophomore Allie Walker (Towson, Md./Mercy) recorded three saves in the first half, while sophomore Jamie Langbein (Brookville, Md./Sherwood) tallied four in the second half for the Yellow Jackets.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Saturday, March 28 for a 1 p.m. home ODAC contest against Randolph at Day Field.
