Box Score ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Elizabeth Blanco (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) registered seven saves as the Randolph-Macon women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to fourth-ranked and defending national champion Lynchburg Wednesday afternoon in ODAC action at the R-MC Soccer Field.
Blanco had two saves in the first period and five in the second half. The Yellow Jackets (4-6, 1-4 ODAC) also recorded a team save.
The match was scoreless for much of the first half, as the Hornets (12-1, 5-0 ODAC) scored with 48 seconds left in the period to take a 1-0 lead at intermission.
Lynchburg picked up an insurance goal in the 70th minute to make the final 2-0.
Seniors Sam Tyler (Colonial Heights, Va./Colonial Heights) and Bridget Panas (Goochland, Va./Goochland) both had shots for R-MC, with Panas' shot being on goal.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 13, for a 4 p.m. home ODAC contest against Eastern Mennonite.
