ASHLAND, Va. – Senior Meghan O'Neal (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) tallied goals in each half as the Randolph-Macon women's soccer team blanked Randolph 3-0 in ODAC action Thursday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets (8-8, 5-6 ODAC) have concluded their regular-season schedule and have clinched a berth in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. The bracket will be released on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 31, following the final conference match.

O'Neal took the ball from a defender and scored just 1:19 into the match as R-MC took the early lead. In the eighth minute, senior Sam Tyler (Colonial Heights, Va./Colonial Heights) scored on a corner from senior Erin Dziedzina (Etters, Pa./Red Land) to give the Yellow Jackets a 2-0 advantage.

R-MC kept a two-goal cushion until the 87th minute, when O'Neal finished off a cross by Tyler to make the final 3-0. It was O'Neal's team-leading sixth goal of the season. She has netted four in the past two contests.

The Yellow Jackets recorded their eighth shutout of the season. It is the highest program total since R-MC registered nine shutouts in 2004. Senior Elizabeth Blanco (Ashburn, Va./Stone Bridge) had a pair of saves for the Yellow Jackets.

R-MC held a 22-7 advantage in shots, including 9-2 in shots on goal. O'Neal and Tyler both had six shots for the victors. In addition, the Yellow Jackets had a 9-0 edge in corner kicks.
