The Yellow Jackets (0-1) moved the ball on its first possession, going 28 yards in eight plays, but an interception stopped the drive on the JHU 32.
The Blue Jays (1-0) advanced to the R-MC 21 on their second possession, but a field goal attempt hit off the upright to keep the game scoreless.
JHU found the end zone on its third possession, going 41 yards in seven plays to take a 7-0 lead with 1:19 remaining in the first period.
The Blue Jays recovered an onside kick and drove 54 yards in 12 plays to take a 14-0 lead with 12:46 remaining in the second stanza.
A JHU interception led to another touchdown as the home team took a 21-0 advantage.
The Yellow Jackets got on the scoreboard on their next possession, driving 38 yards in eight plays, capped by a 24-yard field goal by sophomore Seth Yurgel (Fredericksburg, Va./Courtland), to make the score 21-3.

JHU took over and drove 74 yards in 10 plays over the next four minutes to add another TD and increase its lead to 35-3. The Blue Jays found the end zone on the first play of the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 42-3.
Freshman quarterback Peyton Henley (Bristol, Tenn./Tennessee HS) guided the Yellow Jackets over their final two drives, completing eight of 11 passes for 89 yards. He also rushed six times for 15 yards.
JHU held a 451-277 lead in total yardage.
Sophomore linebacker Connor Lane (Manassas, Va./Osbourn) led R-MC with 8.5 tackles.
The Yellow Jackets will play their home opener on Saturday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. against Averett at Day Field.
