Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. – Senior Carrie Jacobs
(Orange, Va./Orange County) scored the tying goal in the first
half, but the Randolph-Macon field hockey team dropped a 3-1
decision to Rhodes on Sunday afternoon.
The Lynx (4-1) scored 20 minutes into the game to take the early
1-0 lead. Jacobs got the Yellow Jackets (0-5) on the board three
minutes later to knot the score at 1-1. Rhodes notched the go-ahead
goal in the 49th minute and added an insurance score in the 67th
minute to make the final 3-1.
Rhodes held a 20-7 advantage in shots. Jacobs paced the Yellow
Jackets with four shots, including three on goal.
Freshman Kelsey Stanley
(Bumpass, Va.) recorded six saves, while Jacobs and junior Renee
Greenslade (Hamilton, Bermuda/St. Margaret's) both registered
defensive saves.
Randolph-Macon returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 4 p.m.
against St. Mary's.
