Field Hockey Ties Program Record, Six Earn All-ODAC Honors

FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has released its 2025 Field Hockey All-Conference Teams and Randolph-Macon has tied its program record, with six individuals earning honors.

In addition to the historical team achievement, junior goalkeeper Valentina Ambrogi-Torres (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal School) landed on the All-ODAC First Team and became the first Randolph-Macon student-athlete to win field hockey's defensive player of the year award since its inaugural season in 2019. Additionally, she became the second Yellow Jacket ever to win a player of the year award, joining Karen Gibbs (1999). Furthermore, she is the first Yellow Jacket to earn first team honors since 2021 and joins Assistant Coach Teresita Ambrogi-Torres and Claire Magill as the only Randolph-Macon players to make the first team since 2010.

Ambrogi-Torres had a career year, earning RMC's first-ever National Player of the Week award. Her five ODAC Defensive Player of the Week awards are the most by any player in a season since the award's inception in 2024. She finished with career-bests in saves (155), save percentage (.876), goals allowed per game (1.14) and shutouts (nine). In anchoring nine shutouts, the junior guided her team to the most in a single season in the history of the program, including the postseason. Finally, she finished third in the country in saves per game, turning in a .872 save percentage after stopping 155 of her 178 shots faced.

On second team, Breea Dresler (Yorktown, Va./Tabb) registered career-highs in games started (19), shots (43), shots on goal (30), points (18), goals (eight) and assists (two). As the Lemon and Black's leading goal scorer, Dresler was just one of four Yellow Jackets to start all 19 contests. Furthermore, her three game-winning goals tied second-most on the team. Her season was highlighted by her second-career hat trick, helping Randolph-Macon beat Eastern Mennonite 6-0 for its largest shutout victory since beating Southern Virginia University 9-0 on September 20, 2024. Grace Oates (Poquoson, Va./Poquoson) also garnered second team honors after an incredible freshman season, leading the Lemon and Black with five defensive saves. The freshman defender started more games than any freshman on the roster (13) and was part of a back line that only allowed three-or-more goals scored in two games this season.

Randolph-Macon also saw three named to the third team, the second-highest figure in the conference. Kylee Gorham (Suffolk, Va./Lakeland) was the only freshman to appear in all 19 games, tallying a team-high 49 shots on the season. Her 18 shots on goal were good for second on the team, as she also finished fifth in goals (three). Brenna McLean (Rock Hall, Md./Queen Anne's County) was also named to the third team, as the junior finished the season with career-highs in games started (16), shots (22), shots on goal (12), points (eight) and goals (four). She also finished the season tied for second on the team with her four goals and three game-winners. Alongside Gorham and McLean, Courtney Moodie (Hummelstown, Pa./Hershey) earned third team honors, after finishing with a career-high 27 shots across 1,051 minutes played, good for third-most on the team. She joined Dresler as just one of four players to start in all 19 games this season, helping RMC reach the 12-win mark, the highest number of wins in a single season since the 2010 Yellow Jackets team.
