its seventh ODAC win in nine games as they passed Virginia Wesleyan
9-5 this afternoon on Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park.

Lodge (Chesterfield, VA / Matoaca) (2-for-4) posted his fourth
homerun of the season, the Marlins (9-15, 3-6 ODAC) would respond
with two runs in the second to knot the contest 2-2.
Trailing 4-2 in the fourth, Nick Maiolo (Powhatan, VA /
Powhatan) (2-for-4) doubled to deep right center, driving in Christian
Sanderson (Lynchburg, VA / Jefferson Forest) (1-for-3) and Nate Meiners
(Silver Spring, MD / St. John's Prep) to tie the game 4-4. Two hits
by Tim
Benjamin (Glenelg, MD / Glenelg) (3-for-5) and Michael Trantham
(2-for-5) would add two runs to give the Jackets the 6-4 edge.
Leading 6-5 in the eighth, Maiolo recorded a two run homerun (2)
for the three run insurance. R-MC would go on to post one more run
leading 9-5 going into the ninth. VWC would be unable to respond as
starting pitcher Jamie Hendrick
(Chesterfield, VA / L.C. Bird) (4-1) would take home the win
throwing five while Glen McLaughlin (Richmond, VA / Douglas
Freeman) took home his third save.
The Randolph-Macon baseball team returns to action this Saturday
March, 29 to a 12 pm ODAC doubleheader against Roanoke College on
Hugh Stephens Field at Estes Park.
