Box Score FROSTBURG, Md. – Sophomore forward Kali Carroll (Earlysville, Va./Albemarle) scored her first goal of the season early in the second half, but Randolph-Macon fell to Kenyon 5-1 in field hockey in the championship game of the Frostburg State Tournament.
Carroll scored on an assist from senior forward Lauren Seal (Orange, Va./Orange County) with 13:49 gone in the second half to make it 3-1. The Ladies (2-2) of Kenyon scored twice in the first half and once early in the second stanza to build a 3-0 advantage. Kenyon added the match's final two tallies.
Seal led the Yellow Jackets (2-2) with five shots, including a pair on goal. Senior back Olivia Newman (Orange, Va./Orange County) had four shots, three on goal. Kenyon had a 23-15 edge in shots.
Senior goalkeeper Steph Talley (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional) recorded 14 saves for R-MC.
The Jackets travel to Mary Washington on Tuesday, Sept. 10, for a 4:30 p.m. contest.
