ASHLAND, Va.—The Randolph-Macon field hockey team shutout the Vixens of Sweet Briar College this afternoon 4-0 in their first conference game of the season.

Junior midfielder Catherine Pricone (Arlington, VA/Washington-Lee) had a game-high 7 attempts, all of which were on-goal. She scored the first goal of the game 5:15 minutes into the period. The goal was assisted by Carrie Jacobs (Orange, VA/Orange County) who recorded 5 shots on the day. Pricone's second goal was unassisted during the second period.

Senior Lauren Seal (Orange, VA/Orange County) recorded the second goal of the day15:10 minutes into the game (unassisted). Seal assisted the fourth goal shot by forward Rachel Gardner (Rapidan, VA/Orange County). Gardner recorded 5 shots, 4 on-goal.

The Jackets (3-3, 1-0 ODAC) outshot the Vixens (1-4, 0-1 ODAC) 28-5, 18-2 (SOG). Keeper Steph Talley (Bordentown, NJ/Bordentown Regional) recorded 2 saves on the day.

The Jackets return home Sept. 22 against Christopher Newport at 2:00 PM.
