Box Score ASHLAND, VA – Randolph-Macon Women's Lacrosse used goals from ten different players on the way to a 20-10 victory over Greensboro Tuesday evening. The Yellow Jackets improve to 3-0 on the season and will host Hood College at noon on Saturday in Ashland.
Greensboro took their only lead of the game three minutes in when Nadya Fedun found the back of the net unassisted.
R-MC's Shannon Jamieson took advantage of a free position shot just one minute later to tie the score at 1-1.
Emily Lynch then rattled off two consecutive goals for the Yellow Jackets before Katie Russo scored unassisted to stretch the lead to 4-1.
The two teams traded goals until the 11:22 mark when Jackie Martin ripped a Betsy Hebert pass into the back of the net. This sparked a 7-1 run for Randolph-Macon which gave them a 14-5 edge at the half.
Hebert pushed the R-MC advantage to 15-5 one minute into the second half on a free position shot.
The Pride came within eight after Kayla Gonzalez netted two goals in less than two minutes but the Yellow Jackets scored five of the next six to take the game 20-10.
Lynch paced the Randolph-Macon attack with four goals and two assists on six shots. Hebert added three goals and two assists.
Rachel Johnsen won nine draw controls and chipped in with three goals along with a team high four ground balls.
In goal for R-MC, Nicole Woodworth earns the win with two saves in 30 minutes of action while Morgan Tignor stopped a shot in the second half.
Nadya Fedun lead GC with four goals while goalie Kaleigh Hemstock made nine saves on 29 shots.
Randolph-Macon returns to action Saturday, March 9th when they host Hood College at noon.
