Box Score ASHLAND, Va.—The Randolph-Macon field hockey team knocked off #6 Washington & Lee this afternoon in the ODAC Tournament quarterfinals with a 5-2 win that advances them to the ODAC semifinals.
The Yellow Jackets' first goal was scored by sophomore Renee Greenslade (Hamilton, Bermuda / St. Margaret's) in the 18th minute (unassisted) for the early lead. Catherine Pricone (Arlington, VA / Washington-Lee) opened the second period with her first goal of the day to advance the lead to 2-0. Her goal was assisted by junior Carrie Jacobs (Orange, VA / Orange County). In the 40th minute Jacobs scored the Jackets' third goal assisted by Mackenzie Turner (Virginia Beach, VA / Tallwood). Pricone would follow with her second goal, assisted by senior Lauren Seal (Orange, VA / Orange County). Seal finished the day with 2 shots, 1 SOG. The final Jacket goal was scored by Jacobs (unassisted). She recorded 6 shots, 2 SOG on the day.
The Generals would respond with 2 goals late in the second period, ultimately falling short. Senior goalkeeper Steph Talley (Bordentown, NJ / Bordentown Regional) receives the win with 11 saves alongside senior Jenna Marlette (Fairfax, VA / Chantilly) and Olivia Newman (Orange, VA / Orange County) who each tallied a defensive save.
The Jackets (10-9, 7-2 ODAC) will travel to Winchester, VA Wednesday, November 6 to face #2 Shenandoah for the second time this season in the ODAC Tournament semifinals.
