LEXINGTON, Va. – Junior Carrie Jacobs (Orange, Va./Orange County) scored a pair of first-half goals to lead Randolph-Macon past Washington and Lee in ODAC field hockey action.

Jacobs stole the ball from a defender and scored 31 seconds into the match to give the Yellow Jackets (9-8, 6-1 ODAC) the early lead. Her second goal came 15 minutes later off a rebound to push the lead to 2-0.

Junior Catherine Pricone (Arlington, Va./Washington-Lee) scored in the 45th minute as R-MC extended its lead to 3-0. The Generals (4-14, 2-5) avoided the shutout by tallying a goal in the 58th minute.

W&L held a 17-13 advantage in shots, including 13-11 in shots on goal. Senior Steph Talley (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional) recorded nine saves in the contest.

The Yellow Jackets conclude their regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 30, with a 4 p.m. ODAC match at Shenandoah.
