ASHLAND, Va.—On the eve of Randolph-Macon's Homecoming, the 2013 R-MC Field Hockey Senior Day ended with a 3-1 victory over Wilson College.

The Jackets (8-6, 5-1 ODAC) outshot the Phoenix (6-8) 24 shots to 5. Wilson led the first period with a 1-0 edge going into the half. Sophomore Kali Carroll (Earlysville, VA / Albemarle)scored Macon's first goal on a 53 minute penalty-stroke to tie the game. Junior Carrie Jacobs (Orange, VA / Orange County) tallied the second R-MC goal of the day assisted by Alexandra Clark (Fredericksburg, VA / Courtland). Jacobs finished the day with 6 shots, 2 SOG.

The last goal of the day was added by freshman Skyler Seligman (Norfolk, VA / Granby), assisted by Rachel Gardner (Rapidan, VA / Orange County). Junior Olivia Newman (Orange, VA / Orange County) recorded 7 shots, 1 SOG for the day.

Senior captain Lauren Seal (Orange, VA / Orange County) finished with 2 shots, while Jenna Marlette (Fairfax, VA / Chantilly) had 1 shot and kept the Phoenix offense to just 5 shots. Senior keeper Steph Talley (Bordentown, NJ / Bordentown Regional) marked her 8th win of the season with 4 saves.

The Yellow Jackets will travel to Lexington this Sunday, October 20 to face Sewanee for an 11:00 AM match.
