Box Score

ASHLAND, VA – The Randolph-Macon College Women's Lacrosse team scored the first eight goals of the game and never looked back in 17-1 victory over ODAC rival Hollins on Senior Day.

Prior to the game, R-MC honored its two seniors for their contributions to the program.  Kelly Egan who would score four goals and dish out five assists on the day, came into today's game with 200 career points, which ranks her top-10 all-time in program history.   She has now scored 109 career goals and dished out 100 assists, both of which rank among the top-10 in the R-MC record book.  As a junior, Egan was named Second-Team All-ODAC after a season in which she became just the second Yellow Jacket to record 100 points in a season.

Joining Egan in the Class of 2012 is defender Louisa Meyer who caused three turnovers and scooped up one groundball in the victory over HU.  Meyer was named a team-captain after returning to the program following a year abroad as a junior.   This season, she has started a career-high 12 games at defense for the Yellow Jackets.  Meyer has also grabbed 10 groundballs, while causing eight turnovers.   She has also been named to the ODAC All-Academic Team on two occasions and was recently selected to Randolph-Macon's Phi Beta Kappa chapter.

R-MC took a commanding lead early, scoring five times in the first 5:25 of action, getting goals two goals from Emily Lynch and scores by Egan, Ashton Dear and Betsy Hebert.

After a Melissa Hubbard goal for HU made it 8-1, R-MC closed out the half with three consecutive goals, two of which came off the stick Egan to give R-MC a 11-1 halftime lead.

Ten different Yellow Jackets scored on the day.  Lynch had three goals and an assist, while Ashleigh Smith and Hebert each had a pair of scores.   Allie Franklin, Alicia McGrew, Audrey Hester, Mikhaila Calice and Rachel Johnsen all scored in the victory as well.  Johnsen also had an assist and grabbed seven draw controls on the day.

Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Wednesday when it travels to Lynchburg for a 4:00 p.m. ODAC game.
