Box Score ASHLAND, VA – Randolph-Macon Field Hockey dropped a 2-1 decision to Rhodes College in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon. The women fall to 7-8 overall while the Lynx improve to 8-3 on the season.
Kat Simpson put the Lynx on the board first just over two minutes into the game. The score would hold in Rhodes' favor for the rest of the half.
With under ten minutes into the second half, Corrinne Palmer knocked a shot into the goal to give the Lynx a 2-0 lead.
R-MC answered less than a minute later when Catherine Pricone connected with Colby Kinsella to bring the Yellow Jackets within one, but that was as close as they would get.
Goalkeeper Nicole Woodworth took the loss for the Yellow Jackets, stopping a staggering 20 of the 22 Lynx shots on goal.
The women will be back in action as they play host to ODAC rival and 19th NFHCA ranked Lynchburg College on October 17th at 3:30 p.m.
