R-MC senior attacker Erin Clare Cassidy was named First Team
All-ODAC as the conference announced their annual Women's
Lacrosse awards Tuesday. Kelly Egan and Elyse Cooper garnered
Second Team honors while Jackie Bond, Rachel Johnsen and Stephanie
Serena received Honorable Mention nods.
Erin Clare Cassidy, a four year All-ODAC Women's Lacrosse
performer, led Randolph-Macon and ranked fourth in the ODAC with 60
goals. The senior snared 91 draw controls which was a conference
second best while her 25 assists and 85 points ranked fifth.
Cassidy also picked up 34 groundballs and caused a team high 19
turnovers.
Fellow senior Elyse Cooper was selected as a Second Team
All-ODAC midfielder after tallying 57 goals and six assists this
season. Cooper's 57 goals placed fifth in the conference and
second on the team while on the defensive end she picked up 25
groundballs, won 44 draw controls and caused 16 turnovers.
Junior attacker Kelly Egan, a 2010 Honorable Mention selection,
led the Yellow Jackets with 100 total points to earn a Second Team
All-ODAC honor. The junior led the Yellow Jackets and ranked third
in the league with 100 points on 41 goals and a conference best 59
assists.
Senior defenders Jackie Bond and Stephanie Serena earned an
Honorable Mention nod along with sophomore Rachel Johnsen who led
the team with 36 groundballs.
Randolph-Macon Women's Lacrosse finished the 2011 campaign
with a 7-10 overall record and a 4-5 mark in ODAC play. The Yellow
Jackets scored key wins over Bridgewater and USA South champion
Christopher Newport.
