Box Score ROANOKE, VA – Randolph-Macon used 15 unanswered first half goals en route to a 20-2 victory over Hollins University in ODAC Women's Lacrosse action Saturday afternoon in Roanoke.
R-MC (6-6 / 4-2) was led by six goals and three assists for a game-high nine points from Elyse Cooper. Holly Sargeant also had five goals and assists, while Audrey Hester and Rachel Johnsen each had hat tricks, Erin Clare Cassidy had a pair goals and Ashton Dear had her first career score.
The Yellow Jackets got three goals in the first 3:38 on strikes by Johnsen and two by Sargeant. The R-MC lead would grow to 10-0 on Dear's goal 13:11 into the first half before the Yellow Jackets would eventually take an 15-0 lead into the break after Cassidy scored with two minutes to go in the half.
Randolph-Macon would continue to build on its lead, pushing ahead 18-0 on goals by Cooper, Sargeant and Cassidy to open the second stanza.
R-MC outshot HU 29-6, won the groundball battle 26-16 and Alex Flammia made three saves in net for the Jackets.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Wednesday at home versus Lynchburg at 4:00 p.m.
