Box Score Randolph-Macon Women's Lacrosse scored the first eight goals of Wednesday's game at Notre Wednesday on the way to a 22-10 victory. Erin Claire Cassidy and Kelly Egan tallied six goals each as the Yellow Jackets ran their record to 4-4 overall.
Egan finished added six assists to her six goals while Cassidy had five helpers for R-MC. Holly Sargeant and Alicia McGrew chipped in with three goals and an assist each. Alex Flammia tied her season high in saves with 11 on 25 shots.
Stephanie Serena opened the scoring just 16 seconds in when she took advantage of a free position shot. Elyse Cooper followed with a goal before Cassidy notched a pair of scores to put Randolph-Macon ahead 4-0 with 23:03 to play in the first half.
Goals from Sargeant and McGrew combined with two Cooper scores over the next 4:40 pushed the Yellow Jackets edge to 8-0 with 18:23 on the clock.
Allison Terry notched one of her four goals of the game just under two minutes later to put Notre Dame on the board.
After a Cassidy goal at the 16:39 mark pushed the R-MC lead back to eight, the Gators rattled off two consecutive scores to pull within six at 9-3.
Randolph-Macon then scored three straight goals to go up 12-3 before taking a 13-5 edge into halftime.
Notre Dame cut the advantage to 13-6 with an Ashley Cumberland goal nine minutes into the second half, but that would be as close as the Gators would come as the Yellow Jackets pulled away for the 22-10 victory.
R-MC Women's Lacrosse returns to action Saturday, April 2nd when they host Bridgewater College for an 11:30 am ODAC contest. Before Saturday's game the Yellow Jackets will honor their six seniors.
