Six Yellow Jackets Earn All-ODAC Honors in Women's Lacrosse

SALEM, VA – Six members of the Randolph-Macon Women's Lacrosse Team have been named to the 2010 All-ODAC team as the league released its yearly awards on Thursday.

Headlining the group is senior midfielder Logan Pomeroy and junior attack Erin Clare Cassidy who garnered first-team all-conference honors.

Pomeroy (Catonsville, MD/Catonsville) earns first-team laurels for the second-time in her four years in Ashland after scoring 27 goals and one assist for 28 points. Pomeroy grabbed 39 groundballs on the season as well as 2.69 draw controls per game that ranked third best in the ODAC.

Cassidy (Potomac, MD/Holton-Arms) was named to the first-team for the second straight season after a junior campaign in which she registered a team-best 47 points on 33 goals and 44 assists. Cassidy's 3.62 points per game ranked third in the ODAC and her 2.54 draw controls per contest was fifth in the league.

Joining the duo on the all-conference team was seniors Kelly Cramer and Sarah Held, junior Alex Flammia and sophomore Kelly Egan, all of who earned honorable mention citations.

Cramer (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle) finished her senior season with 24 goals and seven assists for 31 points. She also grabbed 24 draw controls and her 42 groundballs and 14 caused turnovers was tops on the R-MC team.

Held (Herndon, VA/Herndon) was a mainstay on defense this year for R-MC, staring all 14 games, scooping up 20 ground balls and forcing 10 turnovers. Held also notched one goal on the season.

Flammia (Springfield, VA/West Springfield) logged over 800 minutes in net for the Jackets, making 123 saves on the season. Her 9.13 goals against average ranked third in the ODAC, while her .482 save percentage was fourth in the league.

Egan (Arnold, MD/Broadneck) wrapped her second season in Ashland by finishing second on the team with 41 points on 23 goals and 18 assists. Egan scored two game-winning goals this season for R-MC and she also picked up seven ground balls.

Randolph-Macon finished 8-6 on the season.
