Box Score ASHLAND, VA - Kelly Egan totaled a game-high eight points as
Randolph-Macon topped visiting Misericordia University 20-4 on
Monday afternoon in women's lacrosse action.
R-MC (2-0) was led by Egan who tallied five goals and added
three assists on the afternoon. Egan was one of nine
different Jackets to score, including Logan Pomeroy and Emily Kent
who both registered hat tricks in the victory.
R-MC out shot MU 29-17 in shots, 10-8 in ground balls and only
allowed the Cougars to convert 5-of-14 clears on the day.
With the score 3-2, Randolph-Macon closed the first-half on a
10-2 run, taking a 12-3 lead on a free-position shot from
Pomeroy.
MU's Shannon Tinkham scored with 44 seconds remaining in the
half to send the teams to the intermission with R-MC up 12-4.
The Yellow Jackets scored eight goals in the second-stanza to
account for the final score.
R-MC will return to action on Sunday when it hosts SUNY-New
Paltz at 2:00 p.m.
