Box Score ASHLAND, VA -- Fourteen different Yellow Jackets scored as
Randolph-Macon upended visiting Hollins 21-2 in ODAC Women's
Lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon.
R-MC (4-1 / 2-0 ODAC) was led by Holly Sargeant and Alicia
McGrew who both had hat tricks in the win, while Logan Pomeroy,
Kelly Egan and Emily Lynch all had a pair of goals as well for the
Jackets.
Randolph-Macon outshot HU 39-3 and held a 21-11 edge in
groundballs. Alex Flammia and Emily Watt split time in net for R-MC
in the victory.
Hollins (1-5 / 0-3 ODAC) got goals Sarah Klam and Erica Bruce in
the loss. Kelly Sheehan turned away eight shots in the cage for HU
as well.
Randolph-Macon scored the first nine goals of the game before
Klam got HU on the board with 16 minutes to go in the first half of
play.
The Yellow Jackets then tallied the final three goals of the
half, two of which coming off the stick of McGrew, to take a 12-1
lead into the intermission.
McGrew would open the second stanza by scoring to make it 13-1
before Sargeant and Rachel Johnsen each scored to up the Jackets
lead to 15-1.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Wednesday when it
travels to Lynchburg for a key ODAC game at 7:00 p.m.
