Box Score Freshman forward Lauren Seal scored just six minutes into
overtime to give Randolph-Macon Field Hockey (8-4 / 2-0 ODAC) a 2-1
win over Kenyon in Newport News on Saturday. R-MC has now won a
program best eight consecutive games.
Monica Jenkins put the Yellow Jackets on the board early with an
unassisted goal in the seventh minute.
Kenyon College waited until the second half to even the score
when Sarah McNee passed to an open Annie Hulkower who rattled the
cage to tie the game at 1-1. Both defenses clamped down for the
remainder of regulation, sending the contest into overtime.
R-MC needed just six minutes before freshman Lauren Seal scored
on a pass from classmate Mikalea Rumley, giving Randolph-Macon the
2-1 victory.
Jackets' keeper Nicole Woodworth finished with six saves
while Kenyon goalie S. Carney-Knisely made eight stops.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action Sunday, October
10th, when they travel to Sweet Briar College for a 1:00
ODAC contest.
