On its second possession of the contest, Catholic (2-4 / 0-2 ODAC) drove into Jackets' territory before the drive stalled on the 24 yard line. The Cardinals looked to be attempting a field goal, but instead they attempted a fake, which they did not convert to give R-MC the ball back.

R-MC took the opening possession of the second half and promptly drove 60 yards on seven plays with Sanders capping off the drive with a one-yard plunge of his own, putting his team up 35-7 with 11:40 to go in the third quarter.

After Cordivari and Alonzo Cooke hooked up on a 23-yard scoring strike to cut the R-MC lead to 35-7, the Jackets' took its ensuing possession and drove 72 yards on nine plays, with Sanders capping the drive with four yard scamper to effectively seal the game for Randolph-Macon.
