(Box
Score)
ST.MARY'S CITY, MD-- Monica
Jenkins' goal in the 14th minute was not enough for
Randolph-Macon Field Hockey as they fell 2-1 to St. Mary's College
Sunday.
The Seahawks took an early 1-0 lead in the
10th minute on a goal by Jackie Ward.
R-MC answered four minutes later with an
unassisted goal from Jenkins to tie the game at one.
Both teams were held scoreless until SMC netted
a goal in the 57th minute to go ahead 2-1.
Despite several late offensive charges, the
Yellow Jackets could not find the back of the net and the Seahawks
held on for the 2-1 win.
Randolph-Macon outshot St. Mary's 10-9 while SMC
held the penalty corner advantage 12-9.
Yellow Jacket Keeper Kortney McLaughlin
collected three saves during her 55 minutes in goal. Seahawks'
goalie Emma Lauhoff also stopped three shots.
