Randolph-Macon Blanks Sweet Briar 4-0 on Senior

ASHLAND, VA-Caitlin Titsworth's early goal
proved to be the game winner as Randolph-Macon Field Hockey shutout
Sweet Briar 4-0 Saturday in Ashland. The Yellow Jackets are now 9-9
overall and 4-3 in the ODAC.
Senior Caitlin Titsworth (Virginia Beach, VA/ Princess Anne)
started the scoring for R-MC with a goal in the 8th
minute on a pass from Nicole Klee (Suffolk, VA/ Lakeland).
Mary McCarthy (Rixeyville, VA/Culpeper) stretched the lead to
2-0 with an unassisted goal in the 9th minute.
Randolph-Macon went up 3-0 before halftime on a goal from
Courtney Owens (Culpeper, VA/ Eastern View) in the 33rd
minute.
The Yellow Jackets tacked on another goal in the second half off
the stick of Monica Jenkins (Culpeper, VA/ Culpeper)
R-MC keepers Nicole Woodworth (Culpeper, VA/ Eastern View) and
Courtney McLaughlin (New Castle, DEL/ William Penn) combined for
the shutout.
Randolph-Macon held a 24-7 advantage in shots and edged the
Vixens 14-5 in penalty corners.
Yellow Jacket Field Hockey will wrap up their regular season
Wednesday, October 28th, when they travel to Mary
Washington for a 3:30 game.
