Dixon and McCarthy Lead R-MC Field Hockey to a 6-2 ODAC Road win at
Sweet Briar
ASHLAND, VA – Jill Dixon and Mary McCarthy each scored a pair
of goals as the Randolph-Macon field hockey team picked up its
first win of the season on Thursday afternoon, topping ODAC foe
Sweet Briar College 6-2 on the road.
Joining Dixon and McCarthy in the scoring column was Lindsey
Baynham who added a goal. Nicole Klee and Lindsay Walker each had
one assist. Ashley Crouch made two saves in the first 15 minutes of
the match before giving way to Kortney McLaughlin, who made six
saves the rest of the way in the cage for the Jackets.
R-MC is now 1-3 overall and 1-0 in the ODAC. SBC falls to 1-2 and
0-1 in the league.
Randolph-Macon will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts
Catholic University at 11:00 a.m.
